With breakout fireworks, you can add multiple unique My Fireworks to the same event. This allows you to more easily keep track of which fireworks you're using on events with multiple fireworks. Each breakout firework also gets its own printed event label, making it easier to label your fireworks and get your setup prepared before show day.
What are Breakout Fireworks?
Breakout fireworks are additional fireworks that are added to an event where you will be firing multiple different fireworks on the same channel and cue. You can use linked My Fireworks, or you can also manually enter a custom firework with a unique name.
Adding breakout fireworks to your events subtracts linked My Fireworks from your inventory counts. You can also adjust the quantity of each breakout firework by typing in the number of fireworks used for each breakout firework in the quantity (Qty) column. When adjusting the quantity, one event label will be printed for each firework.
How to Add Breakout Fireworks
There are three methods for adding breakout fireworks. You can add breakout fireworks to one event, or you can select multiple events at the same time to add the same breakout fireworks to all selected events.
Keyboard Shortcut: To add a breakout firework using keyboard shortcuts, select the event you want to add breakout fireworks to and then press Alt + B on Windows, or Option + B on Mac. This will open a pop-up menu where you can add one or more breakout fireworks to that event.
You can choose a linked My Firework from a drop-down list, or search for one. If you want to add a custom firework, click Add custom and then type in the firework name.
Right-Clicking: You can add a breakout firework by right-clicking on the desired event. After right-clicking, in the pop-up menu that appears, click Add breakout firework... to open the pop-up menu.
Dragging and Dropping from My Fireworks: You can add breakout fireworks by dragging and dropping them from the Fireworks tab. Find the firework you want to add, and then click and drag the firework over to the desired event, and release when hovering over Add As Breakout.
Removing Breakout Fireworks
If you need to remove breakout fireworks, you can use the keyboard shortcut or right-click on the event to open the breakout fireworks pop-up. Once open, you can remove any breakout fireworks that aren't needed for that event by clicking on the X button.
You can remove breakout fireworks from one event at a time, or from multiple events. To remove breakout fireworks from multiple selected events at the same time, all the selected events must have the same breakout fireworks.
Set Fireworks vs Breakout Fireworks
With the addition of breakout fireworks, the primary firework on each event is now called a set firework.
The set firework's duration, pre-fire time, and lift time will appear on the waveform and be used in the exported script file. The set firework's pulse time will also be used in the exported script file, if applicable.
If pre-fire time, lift time, or pulse time values are set in the linked My Firework, breakout fireworks will still show these values in the event table, but they will not be used in the exported script, and can't be edited in the event table.
Duration values for breakout fireworks can be edited in the event table, but only the duration of the event's set firework will appear on the waveform.
