Arming and Firing

The COBRA 18R or 18R2 Controller is used to fire the 18M. The module can be fired manually by pressing buttons or automatically by scripting with a timing accuracy of 1/100th of a second in firmware version 5.0 or higher and 1/10th of a second in 4.0 or lower.

To arm the 18M place the key in the ARM position. Once the startup sequence is complete, the 18m channel will display on the 7-segment displays. To arm the 18R or 18R2 press the ARM button in the lower-left corner of the controller. If you are using the 18R2, the ARM LED will blink and display solid along with the total number of armed devices.

After the ARM LED has gone solid you can fire a single cue by pressing the CH+ or CH- button to select the desired channel that your firing module is programmed to. Then, pressing a cue using one of the 18 cue buttons on the controller will fire that specific cue on that specific module.

If you are firing a script you will need to select the trigger channel and press the pre-defined trigger button to start the script.

For more information on how to fire using the 18R2, see 18R2 Controller User Guide: Firing.
