Module Voltage Mode

The voltage mode is used by the module to determine what its input voltage should be. For example, if the module is powered by the 14.8V COBRA LiPo battery, the voltage mode should be set to 14.8. Changing the voltage mode does not change the cue output voltage; instead, it's used by the module to determine its 1P and 2P power levels for battery life reporting.

The COBRA 18M, 36M, and 72M offer the following voltage modes:

9.0

Used for 9V batteries

12.0

Typically used for a 12V external battery, for example, a car/motorcycle SLA battery

14.8

Used for the COBRA LiPo battery or an external 14.8V LiPo battery

18.0

Typically used for an 18.5V external LiPo battery

24.0

Typically used for a 24V external battery, for example, a deep cycle marine/truck battery, or 2 x 12V batteries wired in series

Toggle the voltage mode by powering on the unit and when booted, pressing TEST and CH+ or TEST and CH- until the desired voltage mode is assigned. Power the module off and back on. The module will retain the voltage mode selected even if the unit is powered off or the batteries are removed.

Below is a chart that shows what P-Value you can expect to see when using different voltage modes and external power sources.

12V Mode   18V Mode   24V Mode
