How do I test signal strength on my Audio Box?

To test the signal strength of your Audio Box, begin by turning on both the Audio Box and the 18R2 that it is synced to. If you need assistance with syncing, see Audio Box Power On and Synchronization.

Once both devices are fully powered on, navigate to the appropriate signal test channel on your 18R2 based on your firmware version (see below), then press and release the SYNC button. Once the sync button has been pressed on the 18R2, your controller will display a negative value—this is the signal of the Audio Box. If you have multiple Audio Box devices being used, pressing SYNC on the 18R2 multiple times will show the signal and address of each Audio Box on, and synced to the 18R2.

You can also view signal strength directly from the Device List feature on the COBRA Control Panel.

Firmware Version Signal Strength Test Channel
5.1.x or lower 99
6.0+ 199

If you are using an Audio Box Gen 2, signal strength can also be viewed directly on the Audio Box LCD display.

For more information on signal strength, see Signal Strength Simplified.
