Overview
This article covers the steps to take when a 36M/72M module screen powers on and illuminates but does not display any content.
Step 1: Reinstall the firmware
Begin by reinstalling the firmware on the 36M/72M module. This resolves the issue in many cases. Follow the standard firmware reinstallation procedure for your module.
Step 2: Assess the result
After reinstalling the firmware, power the module back on and check whether the screen displays content.
- If the screen now displays content: The issue is resolved. No further action is needed.
- If the screen still does not display content: Proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Further troubleshooting may be needed
Important: If reinstalling the firmware does not resolve the issue, the problem may be with the screen or the motherboard itself. Additional diagnosis may be required before determining the correct resolution path. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the unit.
A replacement motherboard with a screen may need to be shipped to the customer. Before proceeding, confirm the firmware version the customer prefers for the new motherboard.
Submit a hardware support request
If the issue persists after completing the steps above, submit a support request using the Hardware Support form so our team can assist with next steps, including arranging a replacement if needed.
