Firmware Version Out of Date
This firmware version has been replaced with firmware 6.1.7. Please see COBRA Firmware Version 6.1.7 Release.
The COBRA 6.1.6 release includes the following fixes. Note that this release requires an update to the .s19 file on the 18R2.
- 18R2 - In some cases, multiple alternate events will fire when pressing your alternate fire trigger button.
- 18R2 - The 18R2 now changes channel and changes the cue LEDs to red on the remote display when firing. This functionality was removed in 6.1.4 and is now re-introduced in 6.1.6.
To update your 18R2, please use the following steps:
- Download the 6.1.6 cobra.s19 file attached to this article.
- Place cobra.s19 file into the root direction of a USB drive.
- Insert USB drive into the 18R2 while off.
- Hold SYNC and power on 18R2. The LEDS will circle as the firmware is updated.
- Once done, the unit will re-start and 6.1.6 will appear. Remove the USB drive.
- You can re-start the 18r2 to re-confirm 6.1.6 appears.
- You are done and the patch has been successfully applied.

6.1.6
Upgrading to version 6.1.6 of the 18R2 hardware B module works as described (error 34 appears after automatic restart, but disappears upon restart). On the 18R2 hardware A module, after the LEDs have rotated, everything remains off. Turning the module off and on again (after removing the USB stick) displays version 6.1.6. Are you aware of this difference in behavior? Thank you.
Hey Jay Post, I'm going to have a team member follow up.
Maurizio Bonaccio This can happen on some remotes as the remote verifies the flash memory chip and formats to support that. Just wanted to confirm, that everything seems to be working, though?
