XLR Single Connection (Unbalanced) Installation Guide
Overview: This guide explains how to install an unbalanced XLR connector on your Audio Box. Follow these steps carefully to ensure proper setup.
Parts Included:
- XLR board (1)
- Screws (6)
- 13/16” spade bit
Tools Required:
- Drill
- Phillips screwdriver
Installation Steps:
- Remove the Faceplate: Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the six screws securing the Audio Box faceplate. Lift the faceplate off the unit.
- Mark the Drilling Spot: Measure 2 3/4" from the left edge and 1 1/2" up from the bottom edge of the Audio Box. Mark this spot with a pencil.
- Drill the Hole: Using a drill with the 13/16” spade bit, carefully drill a hole at the marked spot. Wear safety glasses during this step.
- Insert the XLR Board: Feed the XLR board through the drilled hole until it sits flush with the Audio Box surface.
- Secure the XLR Board: Fasten the XLR board with the provided screws at the top-left and bottom-right positions using the drill.
- Connect the Cables:
- Locate and disconnect the J5 cable from the Audio Box.
- Connect the XLR cable to J5 and the CN2 port on the XLR board.
- Plug the original J5 cable into the CN3 port on the XLR board.
- Reattach the Faceplate: Position the faceplate back onto the Audio Box and secure it with the six screws. Tighten gently to avoid stripping.
Completion: Your unbalanced XLR connector is now installed and ready for use.
XLR Dual Connection (Left/Right Balanced) Installation Guide
Overview: This guide explains how to install dual balanced XLR connectors (left and right channels) on your Audio Box.
Parts Included:
- Dual XLR boards (2)
- Screws (6)
- 13/16” spade bit
Tools Required:
- Drill
- Phillips screwdriver
Installation Steps:
- Remove the Faceplate: Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the six screws from the Audio Box faceplate and lift it off.
- Mark the Drilling Spots: Measure 1 3/8” from both the left and right edges of the Audio Box, and 1 1/2” up from the bottom edge. Mark both spots.
- Drill the Holes: Using the 13/16” spade bit, drill holes at both marked spots. Wear safety glasses.
- Insert the XLR Boards: Insert one XLR board into each drilled hole until they sit flush with the surface.
- Secure the XLR Boards: Fasten each XLR board with screws at the top-left and bottom-right positions using the drill.
- Connect the Cables:
- Disconnect the J5 cable from the Audio Box.
- Connect this cable to the male XLR connector on one board.
- Attach the 6” XLR cable from the second board to J5 on the Audio Box.
- Disconnect the J5 cable from the Audio Box.
- Reattach the Faceplate: Replace the faceplate and secure it with the six screws. Tighten gently.
Completion: Your dual balanced XLR connectors are now installed and ready for use.
