For the Audio Box to play the MP3 file when the 18R2 script begins, you need to enable the Audio Box argument in the script header row, column E (see below). Performing this varies depending on what software program you are using. For more information on scripting, including the header row attributes, see Scripting.
- If you are using firmware version 3.0 to 4.0.1, make sure your audio filename is audiobox.mp3. If you are using firmware version 5.0.1 to 5.0.5, make sure your audio filename, when imported into COBRA Show Creator, has no more than 9 characters excluding the .mp3 extension: for example, 123456789.mp3.
- If you are using firmware version 5.1, make sure your audio filename, when imported into COBRA Show Creator, has no more than 45 characters including the .mp3 extension.
- If you are using firmware version 6.0, make sure your audio filename, when imported into COBRA Show Creator, has no more than 31 characters including the .mp3 extension.
- If you are using firmware version 6.1 or higher, if the audio filename does not match between the script and the audio file on the USB drive within the audio box, the audio file will play anyway assuming it's the only audio file on the USB drive.
COBRA Show Creator - If you are using the web-based, cross-platform (PC or Mac) COBRA Show Creator, you can set the "Use COBRA Audio Box" to Yes from the Show Settings. When first creating a show, if you choose to add music, this attribute is automatically set to Yes.
Microsoft Excel - If you are using Microsoft Excel, you need to add the Audio Box filename into column E within the header row. For example, audiobox.mp3.
Audio Box Feature to Not Pause Audio with STEP Events
In firmware 6.1 or higher, if you place "=np" at the end of your audio filename (e.g. audiobox=np.mp3), the Audio Box won't stop playing audio while paused on a STEP event. This is a helpful feature for individuals firing manual STEP shows with audio where you want the audio to begin on the first event, but then manually STEP fire the show while audio is playing.
