COBRA collaborates closely with leading security professionals to maintain the COBRA system's alignment with the latest industry standards in security and encryption. Based on our most recent discussions with these experts, we introduced an advanced security mode that is currently undergoing early beta testing. This new mode significantly enhances the encryption protocols utilized within the COBRA network, providing an additional layer of protection for users. However, we recommend utilizing this advanced security feature only in locations where there are heightened security concerns.
You may modify the system's security mode to enhanced security by pressing the Channel + button while powering on your module or controller. To revert your COBRA device to Basic Security (Bas), please press the Channel - button while turning the device on. To modify the security mode on the Audio Box, press the Audio Test button while turning the device on. If the Audio Box is currently in Basic Security, this will switch it to Enhanced Security, and vice-versa. The Audio Box does not currently display the security mode it's in, but this will be updated in a future firmware release. It is essential that all devices utilized are operating on the same security version to ensure proper functionality.
