I am having trouble syncing my module to the 18R/18R2; what should I do?

Please watch our video on How to Sync a Device to your Controller. If the SYNC LED is already blinking on your device in response to your remote, your units are already synced and do not need to be re-synced.

If the sync LED is not blinking it is possible that there was an error code displayed when you initially tried to sync the module. Please resync the devices and observe the controller in order to see if 'ER' is displayed on the upper screen and a 50 displayed on the lower screen.

If this is the case your controller has reached the maximum number of addresses and will need to have its address reset. To reset your controller address please see How do I unsync my 18M from my 18R2?.

If you did not see Er50 but see Er5, this means your controller and firing module have two different firmware versions. You will need to perform a firmware upgrade. This can be done using the COBRA wireless re-programmer or by sending your COBRA equipment in for an upgrade.

To send your equipment in for upgrade please email help@cobrafiringsystems.com for a return authorization number.
