Audio Box Charging & Battery Care

Charging Overview

The COBRA Audio Box uses an internal LiPo battery and must be charged only with a COBRA-branded LiPo charger. The same chargers used for the 18M, 36M, and 72M modules are compatible with the Audio Box.

COBRA offers three charger options:

Charging Instructions

  • Plug the COBRA charger into the Audio Box charge port.
  • The charger LED will blink while charging and turn solid once charging is complete.
  • A full charge from 0% to 100% takes approximately 6 hours.
  • Once fully charged, the charger may provide a small trickle charge as needed; however, we recommend unplugging the charger once charging is complete to maximize battery life.

Battery Storage and Maintenance

  • Store the Audio Box in a dry, climate-controlled environment between 50°F and 85°F (10°C to 30°C).
  • Before storing for long periods, fully charge the battery as recommended in the COBRA LiPo Best Practices .
  • If the Audio Box will not be used for five months or more, the internal battery must be disconnected. This requires removing the front faceplate screws of the Audio Box and unplugging the battery connector.
  • Inspect the battery annually for any signs of damage or swelling and contact COBRA Support if any concerns are found.
