What is COBRA Show Operator for PC/Mac?

COBRA Show Operator (CSO) BETA is a graphic control interface for both PC and Mac. The purpose of this product is to offer a show operator platform with a user interface designed for a traditional desktop experience, focusing on keyboard and mouse controls rather than a touch screen tablet UI.

Key Benefits

  • Independent Remote OperationA significant advantage of CSO is that the application operates as a subordinate to your COBRA remote. Your handheld remote stays fully functional and independent, so even if your computer disconnects, your show continues without interruption. Furthermore, in the event of a computer failure, a mandatory software update, or any other malfunction, you can still execute your show using the fully operational embedded COBRA remote.
  • Runs in Your Browser – CSO works through Google Chrome on both Windows and Mac, with no complex installations required.
  • No Active Internet Connection Required - CSO doesn't need an active internet connection to run. To learn more about using CSO offline, see: Do I need an internet connection to use COBRA Show Operator?
  • Real-Time Visibility – Monitor modules, continuity, signal strength, power levels, and other critical information in one place.
  • Customizable Views – Tailor what you see to match the size and complexity of your production.
  • Seamless Updates – CSO updates automatically through your browser, and the COBRA Agent automatically notifies you when an update is available so you always have the latest features.

Current Features

During the BETA phase, CSO is being released in stages to ensure stability and gather feedback from real-world use. The current focus is on device monitoring through the Device List. This feature provides a clear, organized view of all connected COBRA equipment along with their status, such as continuity, signal strength, and power levels. Customizable views allow you to filter and sort data to match the size and complexity of your show, helping you identify and resolve issues before and during your event.

  • Manual firing of cues
  • Module disabling by group or position
  • Randomized show generation
  • Integration with the COBRA Portal and other online tools

What will COBRA Show Operator Cost?

During the current BETA phase, CSO is available at no cost. However, upon completion of the BETA phase, an annual licensing fee will be implemented, which will be reasonably priced. This fee will support the ongoing enhancements, introduction of new features, security updates, and integrations within the software.

  • Zach, is this just for firing or will you be able to build your script on it as well?

  • Jerry Underwood This is just control and firing. Script generation would be in COBRA Show Creator, or other script making programs like Finale.
