The 6M has a charge port on the side of the unit that supports COBRA branded module chargers only; the charger for the 18M, 36M, and 72M will also safely charge the 6M. Do not use any other type of charger as the voltage and current regulation are specific to COBRA in supporting optimal battery life, safe charging, and number of charge cycles.
COBRA offers three chargers: a single, 5-module, and 10-module. The larger, multi-bay chargers help reduce the number of power outlets used and can be built into permanent charging stations to assist companies with large quantities of COBRA modules.
Charging Instructions
To charge the module, place the charge plug into the charge port. The charge LED indicator on the front of the 6M will blink when charging and will go solid when finished charging. Once fully charged, the charger will only provide a small trickle charge as needed. However, it's always recommended to monitor your equipment when charging and to unplug your charger when fully charged. Charging a module from 0% to 100% takes about six hours.
Battery Storage and Maintenance
- Store LiPo batteries in a dry, climate-controlled area between 50°F and 85°F (10°C to 30°C).
- Before storing for long periods, fully charge the battery as recommended in the COBRA LiPo Best Practices.
- If the module will not be used for five months or more, the internal LiPo battery must be disconnected. This requires removing the back screws of the 6M and unplugging the battery connector.
- Inspect the battery annually for any signs of damage or swelling and contact COBRA Support if any issues are found.
