COBRA Firmware Version 7.0.2 Critical Release

The 7.0.2 critical release includes a patch to the 18R2 and 36M/72M with the following fixes:

Modules will not fire the script if the script's first event is a STEP event and all other events in the script are timed events. If your script has any more than two STEP events, the script will fire normally. This issue was discovered by the COBRA team and was not reported by any customer.
A DMX script may fire inadvertently within a PYRO only script. This will occur if you have multiple scripts in the 18R2 with at least one DMX only event script and one PYRO only event script. Then, the user would be required to fire the DMX only script first followed by the PYRO only event script. In this event, the DMX script may fire during the PYRO only script. This issue was reported by a single customer and did not result in any safety issue.

This release requires you to update both your 18R2 and 36M/72M.

To update your 18R2, please follow the following simple steps:

Update your 36M/72M

To update your 36M or 72M, please follow the following simple steps:

Download both the 90M.s19 and 90MB.s19 files attached to this article.
Place both files into the root direction of a USB drive.
Insert USB drive into the 36M or 72M while off.
Hold SYNC and power on 36M or 72M. The LEDS will move left and right as the firmware is updated.
Once done, the unit will re-start and 7.0.2 will appear. Remove the USB drive.
You can re-start the36M or 72M to re-confirm 7.0.2 appears.
You are done and the patch has been successfully applied.
