Signal strength determines the range that a receiver, such as a COBRA firing module, can pick up wireless signals from a transmitter, the COBRA 18R or 18R2 remote. COBRA’s wireless signal range is measured in dBW (decibel watt) and will fall between 0 and -99 dB with 0 being perfect and realistically impossible to attain. Anything under -75 is ideal and -75 to -100 is within range.
When shooting it is recommended to have a signal within 0 to -75 for reliable communication. It is still possible to shoot with a -76 + signal reading.
