For the COBRA Reprogramming software to operate correctly, it may be necessary to add the software as an exception to your antivirus program. If you are experiencing issues with CRS not starting correctly, displaying "Failed to execute script crs" or displaying no spy files found please complete the steps below.
McAfee Anti-Virus:
Legacy Windows User Interface:
- Open your McAfee security software.
- Click PC Security.
- Click Real-Time Scanning.
- Click Excluded Files.
- Click Add file.
- Browse to, and select, the file that you want to exclude from Real-Time scanning.
- Repeat the process as needed to exclude multiple files from being scanned.
New Windows Interface:
- Open your McAfee security software.
- Click the settings gear icon at the top-right of the screen.
- Under PC Settings, click Real-Time Scanning.
- Under Excluded Files, click Add file.
- Browse to, and select, the file that you want to exclude from Real-Time scanning.
- Repeat the process as needed to exclude multiple files from being scanned.
Advanced Firewall:
- The first time McAfee blocks software you will be presented with a pop up stating the program has been blocked. Click Allow to create an exception for CRS if this happens. If you do not receive a pop-up proceed to Step 2.
- Open LiveSafe or Total Protection.
- On the left menu click the My Protection tab.
- Under Device, click Advanced Firewall.
- Click Blocked connections to see all blocked connections, find CRS, and click Allow.
- To confirm CRS has been added please click Allowed connections to see all connections you've allowed.
Norton Anti-Virus:
- Open your Norton device security product. If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

- If the Open option is unavailable click Fix Now. This option appears when Norton requires action to fix. The Open option will appear when all issues are fixed

- In the Norton main window, click Settings.
- In the Settings window, click Antivirus.
- In the Antivirus settings window, click the Scans and Risks tab.
- Under Exclusions / Low Risks, click Configure next to one of the following rows:

- Items to Exclude from Scans
- Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, Script Control, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection

- In the window that appears, click Add Folders or Add Files.

- You can assign exclusions to local drives, folders, groups of files, single files, or network drives. However, Norton does not support exclusions for files on a network. If you add a network drive to the exclusion list, make sure that the drive is connected to your computer.

- In the Add Item dialog box, click the browse icon.
- In the dialog box that appears, select the item that you want to exclude from the scan.

- When you add folders, you can specify whether to include or exclude subfolders.

- Click OK.
- In the Add Item dialog box, click OK.
- In the window that appears, click Apply and then click OK.
Bitdefender Anti-Virus:
- Click Protection on the navigation menu on the Bitdefender interface.
- In the Antivirus pane, click Open.
- From the Antivirus screen select the Settings tab, and click Manage Exceptions.
- Click +Add an Exception.
- Enter the path of the folder you want to except from scanning in the corresponding field.

Alternatively, you can also browse the drives of your computer to the file/folder and exclude it:
Click the magnifying glass on the right side of the Exceptions window > follow the path to the folder where the application file is stored > select the file or folder to be excepted from the antivirus scan, then click OK.

- Once you've selected the file/folder, turn on the switch next to Antivirus. You can customize the antivirus options by checking the boxes under the Antivirus header
- Click Save to save the changes and close the window.
Windows Security:
Windows 11:
- Select Start from your Windows task bar and open/search Settings.
- Under Privacy & Security click Windows Security.
- Click Virus & threat protection settings to open the Windows Security window
- Under Virus & threat protection settings click Manage Settings.
- Scroll down to Exclusions and click Add or remove exclusions.
- Click Add an Exclusion.
- Browse to, and select, the file/folder/file type that you want to exclude.

- A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within the folder as well.

- Repeat the process as needed to exclude multiple files from being scanned.
Windows 10:
- Select Start from your Windows task bar and open/search Settings.
- Click Update & Security.
- Select Windows Security.
- Click Virus & threat protection to open the Windows Security window
- Under Virus & threat protection settings click Manage Settings.
- Scroll down to Exclusions and click Add or remove exclusions.
- Click Add an Exclusion.
- Browse to, and select, the file/folder/file type that you want to exclude.
