On the 8.0.0 BETA firmware, you may notice one or more cues on your 18R2 blinking red and green while you check continuity, before you've loaded a show. This is a known display issue on the BETA, and it's nothing to worry about — your continuity, arming, and firing all work normally, and the cue goes solid when you arm.
| This is display only. Nothing is wrong with your equipment or your show. This only affects 8.0.0 — if you're on the Stable release (6.1.9) or the 7.1.8 Release Candidate, you won't see it. |
What you're seeing
In 8.0, the 18R2 can alternate-blink a cue red and green to point out continuity on a cue that isn't part of your loaded show — a helpful heads-up that something is connected on a channel your script isn't using. This indicator is meant to appear only when a show is loaded on your remote.
Why it happens
On the BETA, that indicator is also turning on before a show is loaded. With no show to compare against, any cue that has continuity blinks red/green during your continuity check. It should simply stay off until you load a show.
Is anything wrong?
No. Your continuity is being read correctly, and arming and firing are not affected in any way. When you arm, the cue goes solid, exactly as it should.
What you can do
Nothing is required. If you'd like the indicator to behave normally in the meantime, simply load your show — with a show loaded, it does exactly what it's designed to do and only flags continuity on cues that aren't part of your show.
When will it be fixed?
A fix will be included in an upcoming 8.0 BETA update. Thank you for helping test the 8.0 BETA — catching things like this is exactly what beta testing is for.
