When you connect the MJG initiator to a power source and complete a continuous circuit, the current will flow to the match head, which has a bridge wire coated in a pyrotechnic composition. The current will heat the bridge wire and cause the pyrotechnic composition to ignite, creating a burst of energy which then ignites the fuse or lift charge it is attached to.
