A powder-coated aluminum enclosure houses the 6M, and while the encasing is heat and water-resistant, it is not flameproof or waterproof. For indoor applications, protection is not typically required. However, for outdoor applications where rain or other elements might occur, it is recommended to cover the unit. Items such as plastic bags, fire blankets, or buckets placed over the device are suitable options to protect the COBRA 6M.
